Since I can't seem to want to stop stopping at places (like Ennis and the Grizzly and Wolf Discovery Center) we didn't arrive in Yellowstone until pretty late in the day - like I want to say it was almost four even. But we loved this first day. We saw so much very quickly; female elk, mule deer, a bear that we didn't get a picture of, a buffalo (extremely close!) and the beautiful geysers and then were rewarded with brewing skies as we made our way out which made for more frequent stops to take pictures but also made for some fantastic pictures.
The spray was stinky but oh so fun!
The color here is incredible...but less incredible in pictures.
Gannon took this one on his iPod! What a beautiful shot!
Um. I may have zoomed a little to get the face detail but I almost didn't have to zoom. This guy was right along side the road, about 5 feet from me literally as we pulled out of one of the geyser viewing areas. So cool. We read the next night that a lady was tossed in the air Tuesday (this day!) after trying to take a selfie with one of these guys. Can't help but wonder if it was him that did it. If you're dumb enough to get out of your vehicle to try to get a selfie with a beast like this - especially after ignoring the many many many warnings about such things, well...maybe you should be tossed in the air to knock a little sense into you!
Old Faithful. Cool but will become less cool as it takes longer and longer to erupt. Way cooler things to see in Yellowstone than this.
