Up the Coast to the Sea Lion Caves

After we finally made our way out of the Redwood Forest, we started up the coast on Hwy 101.  It didn't take us long to get back into Oregon.  Our first destination was the Sea Lion Caves near Florance, OR.  It's a unique stop where you take an elevator 200 feet down into the rocky shore of the Pacific and come out in a cave where sea lions live most of the year.  A little stinky and a little loud at times.

This is the Heceta Head Light house, viewable from the cave looking north.

Many of the sea lions hang out outside on what they call the rookery.
