It's nearly impossible to describe the vast expanse of this northern Nevada valley. We were in complete awe but pictures can never do it justice. We definitely took a less traveled path from Utah to Oregon but are so glad we did. Maybe for those of you who have traveled roads out west you can understand but I know we wouldn't have been able to until we actually saw it for ourselves. Unbelievable.
I tried to give her an apple but she walked away from me not surprisingly.
I wished I had a bale of hay along!
Calla and I are pretending that just up over this huge hill is her heard and a huge lake :o)
She was just before we entered Oregon and just a few minutes later we started our decent and this valley was even more incredible than the Nevada one. The road we drove down was unlike anything we'd ever seen before...it's unreal that there are no guard rails because if you don't make the turn, you're completely done, no joke. We didn't get a great picture because there was no stopping once we were on it.
We came across some more not so wild life as we were nearing Lakeview, OR. This little beauty, named Amber, was in the middle of the road, clearly not where she belonged so I opened the door, she jumped right in and I called the number on her tag. Her mama who lived around the corner and up the road had recently let her out and I don't think even missed her yet but it was a fun little side trip for us!
Happy to have made it to Klamath Falls after our longest day of driving yet we stopped at the Waffle Hut for dinner. Oddly delicious waffles, I asked what made them so unique and then gave me a small bowl of sugar clumps for lack of a better word that are imported from Europe! What!??! YUM!
In hind sight, I should have gone with the salad!
