I like looking for restaurants to stop at that have been featured on Diners
Drive-ins and Dives or other TV shows and we lucked out last night.
DesMoines actually had several but we were arriving pretty late so I called
ahead to a couple places and found that they stopped serving food by 9 so we
ended up at Tacopocalypse and what a place! Very unusual but delicious
flavors and quick which we needed so we could eat and continue on our way.
Woke up this morning about a half hour west of DesMoines in a town called
Stuart! Hi Uncle Stuart!!
I had to ask the lady at the front desk if the Tooth Fairy comes to hotels
and what luck for Annika, she does!!!
She lost one last week and the other just outside of Davenport yesterday
after biting into an animal cracker. Her top front two are loose
too...we'll see what the next 17 days bring, she may truly be a toothless
wonder by the time we get back home!
On our way to Council Bluffs, IA to visit Franz and Mary. A couple
I've known my entire life, they were in Canada the same two weeks we were every
year of my childhood. The aches and pains of aging ended their trips
years ago but we've stayed in touch and I can't wait to see them!
